Montcalm Community College (MCC) provides targeted support and financial resources for youth who are currently in or have aged out of the foster care system. MCC also has an FSM Designated Campus Champion onsite to assist students with experience in foster care. Available assistance includes specialized state scholarships, federally funded cost-assistance programs for childcare and transportation, and dedicated campus wellness services.

Financial Assistance and Scholarships

• Fostering Futures Scholarship: Provides state-level financial aid for students who experienced Michigan foster care on or after their 13th birthday. 
• Carl D. Perkins Grant: Helps eligible former foster youth with childcare costs and transportation expenses while enrolled in an occupational program.

Campus Support Services

• Centurion Cares Program: Connects students facing personal or academic challenges with resources for food, housing, mental health, and emergency assistance. [1]
